HEART SURGERY

Gates clot with distance: other thickened loves not directly related
to active devices are increasingly important for post-fabricated
hearts to facilitate not only process control, circuits, electric life,
but also accuracy of simulations critically dependent on parasites–
your fundamental process parameter.
A thinner gate enables smaller, faster transistors to critically affect
hearts: techniques were developed to provide accurate values.
X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy: you materialize as light
witches on. Auger electron spectroscopy: hold the sun in its light.
Secondary ion mass spectrometry. Transmission electron microscopy.
And the meaning lost in poetry.
And you I lose in visible light.

THE RETURN

There is no tender way to say
our years apart were bedbugs
crawling along our skin
the further apart we moved
and crawled these barefoot floors
at the fragile hanging cord of lust
and painted portraits shades
of aluminum sunsets til dusk
drinking red wine to fall
again, and again, and–
there was no tender way
to leave and no tender way
uncorked to watch the final
seasons of idealism in how
we'd lay but never think
of what would happen should
one day we choose the dark.

POTATO

In those formative years,
we had to sneak to bed,
wait for morning’s slow sprout.
We grew separated
by spade, soft
as mush, new spuds
underground, and emerged
rough-peeled in the other’s palm,
became those rough ovate shapes

we’ve come to recognize
as something good,
not good for you,
but nonetheless
a staple of
a balanced diet.
